I am fairly new to this discussion but my brain in is meep meep mode as I zip from one concept to another and I am now stuck on the question of why are we the “other?” Why aren’t there more discussions about the farmers and their rigid regularity? What are their deficits and disorders? We can understand the was they function with no difficulty but they are litteraly unable to absorb the possibility of a large group of people who operate on a completely different but equally effective system of logic. Does anyone ask if they need to be trained or medicated?
I missed this, can't resist late acknowledgement. Maybe the central hallmark of "the story of my life" being the whole ADHD checklist. One good thing was the accident of becoming a Public Defender. One of the professions in which coping in a constant overworked crisis is satisfying. One anecdote is being recruited as the last choice straight into the misdemenor arraignment calendar of a judge who had confirmed his cranky reputation by causing the person hired before me to just up and quit! I hauled the pile of 30-or-so files onto my hip and proceeded to get 'er done, TO the SATISFACTION of that judge and the slightly bewildered appreciation of my boss, who actually confided to me that he hadn't had high hopes. One has one's moments.....
